A Good Start

by Bonnie on Oct.19, 2010, under Insights

A good start to the day never hurtsI always have people ask me, “What are some practical and spiritual things I can to develop a positive outlook 24/7?”.

Well it all starts with something really simple.  Develop a routine to consciously change your mind every day to a positive mental state.  What I mean is do something that makes you happy first thing in the morning. Why you ask? Well, our mental attitude is the driving force of our choices and good choices turn into good thoughts which lead to good actions, so start there.

I know a woman who has the best attitude. Her particular way of doing this is by getting up first thing in the morning and working out or running for five or more miles. Of course five miles is a lot and that’s obviously not going to work for everyone, but that is her daily discipline. She says she stays focused because of this. Another woman I know practices meditation. It’s her way of expressing her thanks for what she has and all her blessings.

When I drive to my offices in the early morning it’s just breaking dawn and I watch the sun come up marveling at the beauty and the streaks of gold, turquoise, gray and blue. There’s usually some kind of gentle mist hovering against the lower part of the mountains. It really is a beautiful sight to behold. And I marvel that the same intelligence that created this magnificent planet, also created me to help express its beauty and my talents in this world- This usually works for me. For others it might be something else, but finding a regular morning routine- when you are fresh to your positive mental state will help you have a healthy positive attitude.

Heaven on Earth

by Bonnie on Sep.24, 2010, under Insights

Be ThankfulDid you know that you can have heaven on earth?

Yes it’s true but did you know that you can also manifest hell on earth?  What exactly do I mean by hell?  Living in a state of fear and negativity.  Buying into the economic situations and feeling limitations.  Watching human beings destroy each other on the nightly news sometimes in very violent ways.  Is this really the world that you want to live in?

You might say, well what can I do about this?  Well, there are several things you can do about it.  First when you wake up, take a moment to close your eyes and silently give thanks for everything that you have: your home, your old car or the food in your fridge. Whatever it is, make sure you say thanks.  What else?  You can meditate and connect to Spirit and learn to enjoy bliss.  The more people who connect with Spirit- the more bliss.

We are each unique, beautiful loving divine beings of the most high.  God does not create junk.  God does give us free choice and free will.  So why not choose to be thankful and live in bliss.  It’s here.  It is not out there.  It’s within.  You are in a wonderful ocean of Spirit’s unconditional love.  One person at a time can change the world.  Find your Heavenly Kingdom from within, here on earth.  Don’t wait.  Don’t wait for bliss!!  Feel it, share it, give it and receive.

Love and blessings to you all.

Positive Attitude

by Bonnie on Sep.07, 2010, under Insights

Your attitude creates your life

Attitude is Everything!

What kind of attitude do you have on a regular basis?  What kind of “vibe” are you putting out there?  Do people get happy to see you or do they run?

Whatever attitude you have shows how you feel about yourself which in turn, shows how you feel about your relationship to God/Spirit?

I have heard many individuals with bad attitudes get angry with God and yell at him. They blame and then moments later ask for help. Most people talk to God only when they feel they are in a situation that they want to go their way or a situation that they want to get out of.  Then they try to bargain with God.

Let’s explore bargaining.  Let’s say that someone you love is ill and you pray to God saying that if God just makes that person well, you’ll do anything, you’ll change your life completely, etc.  Sound familiar?

God doesn’t bargain and I’m grateful for that. I say this because if God/Spirit were to really bargain with you, what would you have to bring to the table?  Usually when one is attempting to strike a bargain with anyone (let alone God/Spirit), they usually have something to bring to the table.  If this one bargaining request were the only time that you ever really talked to God/Spirit, do you really believe that you have anything to bargain with?  After all, a bargain is a two way deal.

In order to get what you want, speak with God/Spirit on a daily basis.  This creates energy that manifests as attitude so go ahead and look at the glass as half full, this will make it easier for you to receive all the blessings you deserve.

Count Your Blessings

Look around and be thankful for what you have

Look around and be thankful for what you have.

The message was loud and clear.

Thank you.  Thank you.  Thank you!

Gratitude is a powerful force and the spiritual universe responds so beautifully when we are in a state of gratitude.  It is an important aspect of our daily lives that if we choose to do so and practice regular thanksgiving, our lives will turn for the better with more and more miracles coming into our lives regularly.

So many times we go around noticing what we do not have or what we feel we need to have.  We forget about what we already have.

Whatever it is, there is always something to be grateful for.  No matter what is going on around us locally, worldly, or universally, there is always something to be grateful for.

One way to help you exercise the attitude of gratitude is to keep a gratitude journal. The challenge for you is to look around and find ten things every day for the next thirty days that you are grateful for and write them down.  Life is magnificent!  Create a beautiful life for yourself.  We are the co-creators of our lives.  Be blessed, happy and joyful.  Love yourself!

When you express gratitude you show love not only to others but also to yourself.  Being thankful is one of the most powerful things we have so go out and remember this attitude of gratitude the next time you’re at the grocery store, dry cleaners or at the car wash and be grateful for this.

Hope, Love and Help

Unconditional Love

Love unconditionally

Five years ago I watched as the area I came from Gulfport, Biloxi Mississippi was completely destroyed.  I know this because I went and saw it with my own eyes.  I went on a several month long quest to help bring aid to the people who were suffering so badly.

It is not my goal here to talk about this experience, as it was the single most rewarding experience I have had.  What I want to bring about in this blog is how the media and others seem to focus on the bad and not the all the love in the world.

Sometimes you can get the feeling that we are doomed beings. This is not so at all.

I was on a forum for about eight months that allowed me to see first hand the daily unconditional love that was shown to Gulf Coast from so many individuals around the world.  There were people who drove hundreds of miles right after the storm to bring donuts and coffee to those who didn’t have a home left.  There were individuals that came from all over the country to bring what was immediately needed into the area. To this day there are individuals who come to the Gulf Coast and bring their love and willingness to help people rebuild their homes – even after five years .

There are many stories of so many beautiful souls who bring hope and love into the world and if you ever doubted that there’s a plethora of love in this world, just open your eyes and look around.  God is still living among us.  It is not dormant.  It has not disappeared.  It is here right now enveloping and bathing each and every one of us in unconditional love.

Tap in, feel it, grow and love.

Many Blessings,

Bonnie

Thoughts as Energy for Life

by Bonnie on Aug.27, 2010, under Insights

Thoughts are energy

What you think about is what you get.

One of the most frequent questions I get is “How do I achieve happiness, joy, and peace in my life?”

Well, truthfully it is all in your mind.

You see, the average human being thinks over 20,000 thoughts per day and out of all those thoughts, we’re only conscious of a few.  It would be impossible to monitor each and every thought running through your brain and trying to do so would drive you nuts.  But just know that your thoughts are influencing what you attract in your life.

The first law of thermodynamics states that energy can be transformed, but cannot be destroyed and recently it’s been proven by scientists that our thoughts, or brainwaves, create energy.   So if thoughts are energy and energy can never be destroyed, it would be fair to say that some of your thoughts probably aren’t your own.  They are something you picked up along your life’s journey.

The first step to tap into this power of thought is to be consciously aware what you’re thinking and make it positive.  If you change your negative thinking into positive affirmations you’ll start noticing a change in your life. Opportunities that were not previously there suddenly are.  More positive people come into your life and missing stuff shows up just out of the blue.  This is the power of thought and is what Spirit really wants for us.  We just have to tap in with the correct thoughts and feelings.  Sound easy?  In some ways yes, but it requires constant work and I can say the rewards are absolutely worth it.

Yesterday I watched a John Wayne movie and for about 20 minutes his paralyzed character kept saying over and over:  “My big toe moves.  I can move my big toe.”   He was in the process of wellness by affirming this over and over until obviously he believed it and it happened.  He healed from his injury.

I know this was only a movie, but this kind of thing can actually happen when you change your thinking and since there are no limits to your thoughts…take off, test your wings and see how far you fly.

Blessings,

Bonnie

Change Yourself, Change the World

by Bonnie on Aug.23, 2010, under Insights

Everyone thinks about changing the world but no one thinks about changing themselves

Change Yourself

Have you ever thought about changing someone or even actually tried to change someone?  I know I have.  I suspect we all have at one time or another. I once heard a minister say that if you change yourself then everyone you feel needs to change will change.

Change yourself, change the world.

I was pretty young when I heard this and thought, oh yeah that’s not going to work, but as I matured I realized the wisdom of those words and set out to change myself. And to this day I really believe that we have to keep growing and changing not only for our spiritual evolution, but to help change the world.

As I did this, I noticed that other people around me miraculously changed.  Don’t judge yourself or others, let yourself be and grow in the best ways that you can.  As you do, you will find that everything and everyone around you changes for the better.  And you’re wondering, WOW!  How did that happen?

You’ll see.  It works.  Spirit does work.  We just have to get out of the way.

Blessings,

Bonnie

Love and Compassion

We are all in this together

The News-

When it comes to finding out what’s going on where we live, most of us get our information from the local news so please consider this.  Sometimes there is such a thing as too much news and too much information.

We wonder about our high stress levels as we are bombarded by the local news telling us all the bad things going on.  The earth has always had earthquakes, volcanoes, tsunamis, tornadoes, lightning strikes, etc.  Our planet’s alive and believe it or not, without those disasters, we would not be here.

My roots are from the lands that are affected by the oil spill in the Gulf of Mexico – a man made disaster complicated by natural weather.  Because of my roots, I kept a close eye on what was going on and my close connections to the area kept telling me different information than what we saw on the major news channels.  I decided to stop listening to the misinformation being broadcast by the news and have reverted to putting Spirit first.  No matter what happens on this earth, after I leave, I am Spirit.

I’m reminded by my son that our entire ancestry on my side of the family stretches from Corpus Christi, Texas to Pascagoula, Mississippi.  I’m reminded by him that my maiden name is Cajun.  My point?  I am a spiritual being in a physical body.  My ancestral genes and cells tug at my being for the area affected.  But I keep Spirit first.  The very core of each of us is pure love, evolving throughout eternity.  Will I ignore my physical incarnation?  Not at all.  In fact, I will do whatever I need to do to strengthen it so that as my spiritual nature evolves, my physical will handle anything in order to let the Spirit work through me and take me where it needs to.

I find now, more than ever, that Spirit is first in my life.  When I do this, I have more compassion for someone who’s directly affected by this disaster and I send out prayers to those individuals.

We are all in this together.  We all share this beautiful planet.  There really is enough for everyone.  Love and Compassion to everyone no matter what they are going through.  I pray that we all learn to touch our spiritual core.  This is where unconditional love is and there just is nothing else out there that can remotely compare.  Once you tap in, it becomes your number one support.  After that?  Miracles happen.

The Power of Visioning

by Bonnie on Aug.13, 2010, under Insights

The Power of Visioning

Create your future through visioning

Last year I was speaking at the Spiritual Treatment Center in Redlands where we were visioning every Sunday morning. The Center was having its difficulties as funds were scarce and the board was getting tired and basically just wanted out.  They could not pay me anymore and it seemed to be a “dying” church, so we parted ways.  Since then, they have called me and left messages off and on – I made good friends.

When I was there, we were constantly looking for ways to help the Center gain exposure so that local organizations could rent space – all the while still visioning on a weekly basis.  So Friday I found out they did something we had wanted to do and sent out a survey to the community and asked what the community wanted from the center.  The community wanted a center rather than a church.

And this is what it has turned out to be. They now have several organizations renting out space including The Chamber of Commerce helping give the center more exposure.  The Spiritual Treatment Center is now becoming a viable non-profit that is meeting the needs of the community – something that all of us shared in our weekly visionings.

I wanted to share this story of the power of visioning and that Spirit does provide – just not always in our time lines and not always in the way we think it should.  The Spirit does however, always provide and miracles large and small happen.  I am happy that the Spirit helped facilitate the success of this organization, even if it was in a way that I was too short-sighted to see.  They brought me on board to help make it a viable non-profit, give it direction and so now it is manifesting.

For me there was pain involved with this place.  Now it is gone.  Wonder and gratitude have replaced those feelings.  Thank you for listening.

Putting Spirit First

by Bonnie on Aug.09, 2010, under Insights

Wonderful things happen when you put Spirit first

Blossiming Spirit

The other day I blogged about how putting Spirit first in your life is the way to go – you simply cannot lose.

On a personal note, lately business has been off, things weren’t working in the time frame I need them to work in, car problems, you name it — it was happening.  So I made a conscious effort and started putting Spirit first again. Then today as I was listening to a pastor’s church from Houston, TX — You probably know who he is – he has written New York Times bestselling books and has a large church in Houston as well as speaking engagements throughout the country – well, he was speaking about how God has faith in us.  God provides and blesses us and yet we somehow separate from our loving source.  When this happens things in our life seem to not go well and we lose faith.  So, as I was listening to this sermon I remember feeling as though something washed over my entire being .

I love public speaking and I love speaking sermons at churches.  I was thinking well, it’s been about six months since I have spoken anywhere.  As soon as the sermon was over, I checked a voice mail message and discovered that I had at least one, maybe more potential speaking engagements.  Think faith does not work?  Think again.  I also have a client I am working with today that I have not worked with in over a year.  Just out of the blue.  No, wait a minute I take that back.  Just out of Spirit.

Many Blessings,

Bonnie
